The Lynx was the final version of the Leyland National, developed from the series two vehicle with a view to keep costs down and with the option of bodywork other than by Volvo/Leyland. Its introduction came at a time when its principal home customer switched to mini-bus models and then was privatised, drastically reducing its intended home market. Despite a difficult market place, the model did quite well, but Volvo decided to cease production early in 1992, and close the Lillyhall plant.
Our book, written by Mark Jameson, this initial edition of the Leyland Lynx book traces the ownership of all the vehicles up to November 1995.
