In 2000, Arriva purchased MTL, the Liverpool-based transport group, which included the major bus operator in Merseyside plus the two rail franchises. A subsidiary operation at Heysham was soon sold on and the MTL bus operation was absorbed into Arriva North West, later to become Arriva North West and Wales. The fleet deatils a the start of 2000 is reflected in this edition.
