Quick Overview

The Midlands fleets were joined by Cambus in 1995 and the administration of Cambus and Chesterfield Transport were integrated into East Midland at Chesterfield. The MMC report presented to Parliament in 1996 noted that Chesterfield Transport could have collapsed, if Stagecoach had not made the merger offer. Following the merger with Cambus, undertakings were agreed with the Department of Trade that the divestment of the Huntingdon depot and Milton Keynes operations of Cambus would be made and this took place the following year.
